What we learned was very informative. We finished up the presentations early on this week, but I will admit that most of them weren’t very good. But at least they were done unlike some of these other ones that people didn’t even do. It’s kinda disappointing to see people just not do them.
And after that we started going over what our senior projects are and what we were going to do. And it seemed alot like the unit 1 project. But it is just so much wider in scope and I didn't even know what to do for it. But after wednesday itr felt like I was starting to formulate what to do and that I wanted to help the political world. Now there wasn’t much else we went over this week because most of it has been all about this senior project, but through it I’ve fully solidified what I’m going to do and I hope to get to work on it very very soon and I hope that people are going to like it and that it will be very good. Peace out man

This week seemed to go by pretty fast at least for this class. We didn’t really go over ny new lesson material but we still did quite a bit of research and read some very nice poems
Like on monday, even though we had a two hour delay I still had the very strong process of learning how to do Cornell notes right after doing them really wrong. So that was a very nice experience. But we didn’t really have alot of that deep down meat and potatoes so to speak. We also watched a very good Ted Talk by Hollie Mcnish. And on tuesday things started heating up after the SSR with our reading of the rather famous Sherman Alexie short story known as Indian Education. Which is about Sherman Alexie’s education and issues growing up which was not only very touching. But also helpful to writing our presentation along with completing an assignment based on this. Sadly I was not here on Wednesday. So I could not really learn or reflect because of this so. Free day yay. On Thursday we went right back to the grindstone though with a creative writing day that helped me to elaborate on any writing abilities that I felt improve through this activity, and we spent the rest of the day elaborating on what we were doing for our unit 1 project; On friday we barely did anything because next week is SPRING BREAKKKKKKKKK sweeetttttttt lmao. Have a wonderful day Mr. Schoenborn Well I think we learned quite a bit after the absent first week. We really did hit the ground running by starting with a poem to kick off our first unit, identity.
Now what is identity? That is a very complex question to ask that we started to answer by telling the “Where I’m From” poems. Of course though, few people were actually finished on monday so we needed to spend monday finishing them up. But all in all it was pretty good, even though I had to improvise the last few lines of my poem on the spot. We also watched informative (if not slightly biased) videos on how different ethnicities and career people perceive race in America. Another interesting thing we did was that we did a different form of creative writing. Instead if it being based on just going wild, Schoenborn Wednesday got even weirder as we not only had a sub I forgot we were going to have, but I also had an orthodontics appointment so I missed the stuff we learned that day Thursday was a different track though, we started off with a normal poem, but from there we started really working on our power of identity worksheet. And it seemed really big and confusing at first. But I think I understand and am getting much more focused after this Friday we had an ssr time and time to write this cool blog, but at the end we read indian education which was an amazing story about the pain native americans go through just through public education and how broken the author's home was and how he pushed through it all |
